Fennel, peach and goat cheese salad from ‘Claudia Roden’s Mediterranean’

Happy July, happy cook!

I hope wherever you are, you’re staying cool. It’s rather toasty here in the southern part of the U.S., as you probably know (or perhaps you’re sweating here, too).

The first thing I want to tell you about — as we look forward to the month in food — is a new cookbook review: Claudia Roden’s Mediterranean: Treasured Recipes from a Lifetime of Travel. The book itself isn’t exactly new; it was published in November, 2021. But it is filled with recipes that feel just perfect for summer, so I’m using that as my excuse for taking so long to review it. In any case, it’s a book that will have a permanent spot on my shelf — I know I’ll open it often, and in every season.

READ: Cookbook Review

Among the recipes included in the review:

• Chicken with Olives and Lemon

• Green Olive, Walnut and Pomegranate Salad

• Fennel, Peach and Goat Cheese Salad

• Yogurt Soup with Orzo and Chickpeas
